BEACON ROAD HOUSE

This house is situated in a small west facing valley and is designed to view towards a hill to its south. The building is positioned to the north of the site to allow sunlight over the hill and on to the house in winter. The brief is split into two volumes and these are situated either side of an east-west orientated hall. The eastern end of the hall forms the main entrance. The hall brings light to the northern rooms on the ground floor. The hall and upper floor landing are ventilated via windows and solar powered roof lights. The design incorporates solar panels integrated into a zinc roof.
